Newbury Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities (CTPLD) | West Berkshire Directory

Newbury CTPLD Health Team is based at West Street House, West Street, Newbury on the first floor. The team consists of Community Learning Disability Nurses, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Specialist Dietitians. The main objective of the team is to meet the health needs of people diagnosed with a Learning Disability. At West Street House, you will find the Nurses, Occupational Therapists and the Team Administrator. The other members of the Team are based at Prospect Park Hospital, West Berkshire Community Hospital and 7-9 Cremyll Rd in Reading. All members of the team can be contacted on 01635 503551 or via email [email protected] Referrals can be made to all disciplines on the Referral Form and sent to the email address on the back of the form. Weekly Multi-disciplinary Team meetings are held on a Wednesday morning usually at the West Berkshire Community Hospital. Adult Social Care staff can present a case they would like support with at the meeting by arrangement. Please contact the Team Administrator to make arrangements. There is an Inpatient Unit, the Campion at Prospect Park Hospital for people with Learning Disabilities. However, staff will work to prevent admission to hospital using the Planning Live Process or by referring to the Intensive Support Team, who will work directly with the service user to manage the presenting problems/illness. The team also work closely with the Learning Disability Liaison Nurses at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and other local hospitals.
